St. Naum Macedonia Hall Wedding :: Kathryn+Andrew

Hey Gang!

Kathryn & Andrew’s family were probably one of the most enthusiastic bunch we have ever seen *lol*  Right from the first moments of the day when we were greeted by Andrew’s family and groomsmen, we knew that we were in for an awesome day!  Kathryn’s family did not disappoint either, the energy in their home was incredible… and the best part?  Both sides of the family never let up!!  The whole day was like that *lol*!

The love and excitement everyone had for these two was palpable! One of our most memorable moments from the day was when everyone erupted in applause and a standing ovation when they were pronounced Husband and Wife.  It was so wonderful to witness and be able to document.

A big thank you to Kathryn & Andrew’s family for making us feel so welcome and like one of the Rosati/Vuk’s!  And a heart felt thank you to our amazing couple for having us there to be part of your beautiful wedding.  We wish you many years of crazy love and excitement..just like on your big day!

Now, here’s how Kathryn & Andrew remember their big day:

He Said:

When I first saw her in her wedding dress…She definitely surpassed all my expectations and looked stunning. I had so many emotions running through me when I saw her. I was so happy and at the same time had those butterflies before you do something super exciting. I was of course, also fighting off the emotions (I didn’t want to be the first one to cry ;)). The one thing I couldn’t get out of my mind was how beautiful my wife looked. As soon as I saw Kathryn walk into the church I was already thinking of her as my wife before we even got married! Once that registered, I felt a sense of calm. Seeing her in her wedding dress and knowing that I was about to marry my best friend just took all the nerves away and made me focus on her and nothing else.

My favourite moment…There were so many great moments throughout the day from being with my family and groomsman in the morning, seeing Kathryn for the first time at church, our first dance together and partying the night away with family and friends (just to name a few). But if I had to choose, I know that we both had a fantastic time taking pictures at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum after the ceremony and it was my favourite highlight of the day. We were extremely fortunate to have an awesome tour guide by the name of Bill who was not only a knowledgeable veteran but also celebrating his 52nd wedding anniversary that day. We were humbled to learn that he personally asked to be our wedding’s tour guide to share in our day as it was just as special for him. This also gave us a great opportunity to allow him to share some of his secrets to making a marriage happy and cherished for so many years. We both enjoy aviation and going to airshows so it was thrilling to take our photos at the museum. Most importantly, I was so excited that Kathryn and I got to do it together, our first little adventure as husband and wife! It was a blast celebrating our nuptials with the rest of the wedding party in Top Gun style!

Something that happened that I didn’t expect…At our reception, in order to have Kathryn and I kiss we would need to be shown how it’s done. What I didn’t expect was for my best man to get in on the action. Now you’re probably thinking he kissed my wife. Wrong! He puckered up and kissed me! Kathryn’s Aunts and Uncles formed a line on the dance floor and proceeded to kiss one another along the line, so in good fashion our head table did the same. But when it was my best man’s turn to kiss me on the cheek (as all of us had been doing and copying Kathryn’s family) he decided to lay one on the lips all in good fun!

She Said

When I first saw him all dressed up… all I could do was smile. He looked so handsome!!  When I first saw him at the church walking down the aisle, he was the only person I could see and focus on, I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. His blue eyes lit up from where he was standing and he had the biggest smile that made my heart just jump with excitement! He was waiting there for me!! All I could think to myself was that today has finally come and RIGHT NOW I’m going to marry my best friend!!

My favourite moment…where do I even begin! The whole day was better than I could have ever imagined! From saying our vows, our first dance, the awesome party… but if I have to pick one it would be when Andrew and I were pronounced husband and wife and both our families and friends gave us a standing ovation. Words cannot describe the love and support we felt in that very moment. From then on, the celebrations continued and little by little everything kept surpassing our expectations.

Something that happened that I didn’t expect…would have to be that neither of us cried on our wedding day, although almost everyone else in our families did ;). The night before the wedding I was a ball of nerves, yet the morning of our wedding came and I have never felt so calm, excited and ready in my life. Truly an amazing and unforgettable day!
