There’s something to be said for the people we choose to have in our lives. They’re the people that are there without obligation. They’re not family, and they don’t HAVE to love you…they choose to.
Friends are the family that we get to pick. Some of us are lucky to have had them around our whole lives and others wonder how they ever went their lives without them. They don’t love you in spite of your quirky qualities, they love you BECAUSE of them. And the best part is that they don’t raise an eyebrow at them because they totally “get” them…and you!
I love this moment between Amy and her girls. The expressions on their faces and their conversation throughout the day really showed me how blessed she is to have such a large “chosen family” and from listening to the speeches they have been together for a long time. Every moment shared with them is a moment to be cherished. A lifetime of friendship goes by in a *blink*, but one day when they’re old and wrinkly they’ll remember moments like this one, when they stood by their best friend as she made one of the most important steps in her life. And this photo will always be a reminder to Amy of how fortunate she is to have that support and love…all because a bunch of girls chose her as their family too.
