Liberty Grand Wedding :: Lisa+Stephen

“Bassem and Lori, You provided so much energy for our wedding! Your humour and friendliness made us, our friends and families feel at ease throughout the entire day. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you guys, and we’d highly recommend you for any special occasion. We had a care-free and fun wedding day, thanks Bassem and Lori!!” – Lisa & Stephen

Hey Gang!

We met Lisa & Stephen to discuss their Liberty Grand wedding while they were still in Vancouver. It is amazing how much fun you can have over Skype!! *lol* We knew from the moment we chatted with them that this was a wedding we wanted to be part of. And boy were we right!!

We went out to scope the Liberty Grand in Toronto a few weeks before their big day as this would be the first time we’d shoot there. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of shooting or celebrating an event at this incredible location, we can imagine it fulfilled every photography or party related dream! The architecture, the character, the customer service and the food..yum, yum, YUM! It’s seriously what wedding dreams are made of *lol*. We were already so excited to shoot Lisa & Stephen’s big day, so when we walked through the doors and got to take in all of the amazing photo ops, we very happy to say the least.

Lisa & Stephen said their “I Do’s” in the beautiful outdoor ceremony in the courtyard. After that, it was time for the party to begin with some cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. We loved going through all of the photos their parents brought of their childhood and watching everyone enjoying themselves. Once the dance floor opened, it was party central as everyone started to bust some serious moves!! We have to admit, capturing shots of guests enjoying the reception is one of our favourite parts of the day. Once the liquid courage kicks in, everyone loosens up and puts their dancing shoes to good use. Or, in Lisa & Stephen’s case..dancing flip flops *wink*. For anyone who didn’t remember or think to bring a comfy pair of shoes, our sweet couple remembered for them and left a basket full of flip flops for guests to enjoy.

Now, let’s take a look at our couple’s first impressions of their big day…

He Said:

My favourite part of the day was looking into Lisa’s eyes as she poured her heart out while reading her vows. She was so beautiful and her words were so perfect. My eye’s water with happiness and my heart warms when I think back on that moment.

I’ll never forget my brother’s speech. His chose words, humour, thoughtfulness, and delivery lit up the room and touched everyone’s heart. He honoured my late father like no other and brought his presence to the room that night. I’m so grateful to have Michael as a brother.

I least expected my clumsiness when I spilt the whole container of boiling water from the steamer on my suit, 10 minutes before picture time! Lucky for me, I had 2 awesome groomsmen that whipped the hair dryer immediately and had the shirt dry in no time!

She Said:

My favourite part of the day was…. hitting the dance floor with my friends! It warmed my heart to see them all come together and have a great time, dancing like no one was watching. It truly felt like a big celebration – not to mention at one point, Stephen went into the middle of the dance circle and busted some moves!

I’ll never forget…. seeing Stephen wiping his tears from his face, when I was standing behind him. We were right about to do the first look, and when I saw him wipe tears from his face I got so emotional! He was already in tears before even seeing me. It made my heart completely melt.

I least expected…. my 16 year old half brothers’ speeches! They were charismatic, funny, sweet, and full of confidence. It’s crazy to see my siblings grow up into full-grown adults wit their own personalities.

Lisa & Stephen, thank you so much for having us! Getting to know you guys and being part of this incredible day was SO wonderful! We wish you all the best as you settle into life as Mr. & Mrs. in beautiful Vancouver. And who knows, maybe you’ll find us there one day for a visit *wink*
