Today I am so excited to share Courtney & Tom’s gorgeous wedding at the Cambridge Mill. Personal touches are what make each wedding I shoot unique and this wedding was certainly no different. From the way they decided to write their vows, to the beautiful wooden decor made by Courtney’s Dad, it truly was a beautiful day. And while decor and details are what makes the wedding pretty, it is the people that come together that make it meaningful. There were so many amazing moments and all of them as a whole made the day perfect. I love that I can give my couples the gift of a memory that they can always look back on. I’m sure Courtney will never forget Tom’s face when he saw her in her beautiful dress for the first time, but Tom never would have seen it had it not been captured.
Throughout the day, I was able to not only witness the love between a bride and groom, but I watched a family come together and celebrate with all the love and support that one can imagine. That kind of love is what fuels my inspiration!
So, that brings me to one question…how did all that love begin? Let me tell you *wink*…Courtney and Tom met at Ryerson University where they attended the same program (Graphic Communications Management). They knew of each other through mutual friends but it wasn’t until 3rd year that they really had a conversation. It was in one of the smaller lab classes where they ended up in the same group. They recall things starting off pretty rocky *lol*. Tom wrote Courtney’s name on the sign up sheet as ‘Courney S’ (forgetting the ‘T’ and having no clue what her last name was…uh oh!! *lol*). It was in this class that they started to get to know each other. Tom even felt comfortable enough to call Courtney a ‘CONTROL FREAK’. Somehow she was able to look past these remarks or maybe it was his honestly and guts that seemed to win her over? In any case, they were in many more group projects and worked well together. Tom’s calm and organized manor counteracted Courtney’s scattered way of working. They were and are a great team and through the stress of tests, assignments, and school they made time to fall in love.
