We’ve talked before about how crazy a wedding day can be. So many things going on at once, with an insane amount of details to consider. There are timelines that don’t always go according to plan and even if they do, it seems the day slips by without notice. Everyone (myself included) tells a bride and groom to relax, take everything in and enjoy their day – but sometimes we forget to take that advice ourselves! We get caught up in the excitement of the day and at times don’t even realize how quickly everything is passing us by in a *blink*.
On the morning of Nilusha & Ryan’s wedding day, everything was pretty calm as the girls got ready. But there was one moment that I will never forget! As we all got ready to leave for the Ancaster Mill, everyone was getting their final details in order. Bridesmaids were filling their clutches, the bride was take some last few moments to herself and her mother was putting on her jewelry. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see that a little bit of panic was setting in, “I can’t find my other earring!”, Nilusha’s mom said holding up the one she had in her right hand. We all started to comb the room, looking under dressers, in the bathroom, on the floor, in her jewelry purse…. She didn’t have a back up plan and time was running out. All of a sudden we heard a laugh come out of Nilusha’s mom as she opened her left hand to find the other earring!! In the hustle and bustle of the morning and preparing to leave, she didn’t realize that she had been clutching the earring in her fist the entire time *lol*. We all laughed, but the moment I caught between Nilusha and her mom was absolutely priceless!
The moral of the story? If you’re getting married, or if someone dear to you is…ENJOY the day, and when things don’t go exactly as planned, take it as an opportunity to slow down and really take the moment in. After all, it just might be a *blink* you’ll laugh about for years to come.
Come back in a few for more beautiful moments from their big day!
